Finally, I've been able to see Beyoncé's new single "Sweet Dreams" in HQ so that I can form my opinion on it.
If you haven't seen it yet...shame on you. Nah, just kidding but you could watch it now:
The video starts great. Beyoncé is sleeping having a dream/nightmare and the music is dramatic which really fits the theme since everything looks dark. GREAT! I love it.
Then a scream let's the performance begin. As always Beyoncé delivers a great show with a few different scenes. The end is my personal favorite: TURN THE LIGHTS OUT!
I still have not been able to figure out why she couldn't create the video as the intro which is amazing giving you the feeling to watch a movie. However, Beyoncé has never been a big story teller in her videos. Which is surprising since she aspires to win an Oscar, just saying.
Nevertheless the video gives us 100% of the best female performer we have right now. If it wasn't Beyoncé the video wouldn't be as good as it is. Beyoncé makes the video what it is, not vice versa.
It's good to see, though, how she keeps using the theme she obviously created for this era. The black and white thing, Sasha Fierce having two dancers. That's really cool and shows some kind of artistry right there.
All in all, "Sweet Dreams" is nice but I just think Bee does deserve better videos because it seems that even some of the other "It-girls" get more budget than she does.
